As we close our Women in tech | Inspiring Journeys series, we invite you to explore the mindset that transforms challenges into opportunities and drives growth.

For Cristina T., Scrum Master, a tech career has been exactly that: a journey of adaptability, resilience, and embracing new opportunities. When presented with the chance to take on a coordination role, she stepped forward with determination, taking on new responsibilities and expanding her skill set.

Her journey is a great example of how confidence, perseverance, and a strong support network can make all the difference.

In this final edition of Women in tech | Inspiring Journeys, she shares what keeps her motivated, how she stays curious in a fast-changing industry, and the advice she would give to the next generation of women in tech.

what inspired you to pursue a career in tech?

Studying IT in university gave me a strong foundation, but what inspired me was the way technology constantly evolves and shapes the world. I love that in this field, there’s always something new to learn, which keeps things exciting and never monotonous.

can you share a memorable moment or accomplishment in your career that made you proud?

One of my proudest moments in my career was when I was given the opportunity to take over my Product Owner’s role during her maternity leave. It was a big responsibility, and I saw it as a chance to prove myself that I face any situation. I was not certified as a Scrum Master or Product Owner, but with my adaptability skills I learned in a short time all was necessary to lead the team for both positions. I successfully managed the team, ensuring everything ran smoothly. When she returned, instead of resuming full control, she allowed me to continue working alongside her as a Scrum Master. That recognition of my work and the trust placed in me was a defining moment in my career. It showed me that my leadership skills were valued and reinforced my confidence in my abilities.

in a rapidly evolving field, how do you stay curious and continue learning?

Technology is constantly evolving, and that’s one of the things I love most about working in this field. I make it a habit to stay updated on industry trends by reading articles or engaging with communities that share insights about agile practices. Additionally, I learn a lot from real experiences because every project presents new obstacles and solutions, which keeps me engaged, focused and motivated.

if you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice as you started your career in tech, what would it be?/ If you could give a piece of advice to young women aspiring to a career in tech, what would it be?

If I could go back and give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be to trust the process and have confidence in my abilities.

My advice to a young woman aspiring to have a career in tech is to believe in yourself, even when things feel challenging. When I first started, I sometimes doubted myself, but over time, I realized that confidence and perseverance are just as important as technical skills. If you enjoy tech, don’t let anything hold you back. Surround yourself with mentors and a supportive network that encourages your growth

Many thanks to Cristina for sharing a snapshot of her story with us.

This may be the end of this series, but the journey continues. Stay tuned for our next edition, where we’ll keep exploring the inspiring paths that shape the future of tech.
